Welcome to S.A.F.E., a not-for-profit CIC (community interest company) with a single mission - providing free, accessible, and easy-to-understand information on staying safe online and recognising the signs of fraud. We understand that those who use the internet less frequently may be unaware of the risks, but cybersecurity awareness is essential - not just for browsing the web, but also for identifying suspicious text messages, phone calls, and other potential threats.
Primarily, our aim is to ensure that older adults and more vulnerable people are taken care of when it comes to online scams and fraud, since they are seen as the easiest targets by threat actors. We can do this by leveraging more classic information sharing methods, such as having the info printed onto flyers or holding drop in sessions at local community centres. A 2024 study revealed that nearly three in five older people have been targeted by financial fraud, with approximately 17% of them falling victim. This means around 1.9 million older people in the UK were scammed, suffering an average loss of £3,700 per incident. The impact goes beyond just financial loss, with severe knock-on effects on their lives and the lives of those around them.
This is a major issue, and we want to help. We’ve asked ourselves how older adults and vulnerable people can best learn to stay safe online. We believe traditional online training might not be the best fit, so we've created a simple, easy-to-understand guide on a leaflet, which we’ll deliver directly to your or your loved one’s home.

We understand that there are people who may prefer learning online, which is why we offer the same guidance on our website that's printed on our leaflets, to ensure you are equipped with the knowledge and information you need to spot fraud and scam attempts.
